You will leave this interactive workshop with a practical plan full of social content ideas you can use.

What is social media campaigning?

According to social media campaigning expert and SMK Associate Chloe Green, social media campaigning is anything that charities and campaigners do digitally to bring people into the funnel of engagement. It’s using social media platforms and tailored content to communicate a campaign’s messaging, start a conversation, and mobilise supporters.

Why is social media campaigning important?

Social media campaigning is an inexpensive, democratic, and nonhierarchical way of getting messages disseminated and recruiting supporters. Social media campaigning is how to get people online to take further actions with you like signing petitions, writing to their representatives, joining events, etc.

What do I need to know about social media campaigning?

Before starting your campaign on social media, you’ll need to know:

  • How the priorities of people, press, and politicians change daily and how to stay relevant within that environment
  • Why, what, and how content engages people
  • Strategic thinking behind winning content
  • How to generate content ideas and the principles of great social media content

You can learn how to each of these things in SMK’s How To Create Social Media Content for Social Change workshop.

What will I do in SMK’s How To Create Social Media Content for Social Change workshop?

In this workshop, you’ll:

  • Learn and develop goal setting and channel selection in social media campaigning
  • Generate dozens of high-quality ideas in a rapid-fire format
  • Discuss and hone your ideas in a judgement-free space, meaning you’ll leave with ready-to-go creative plans.
  • Learn the principles of making great social media content
  • Generate practical, workable ideas for current campaigns
