Digital campaigning

In partnership with More Onion

These days a campaign’s success often hinges on how well it is executed online. But with the huge range of digital campaigning tactics and channels available, it can be hard to know where to start when working on your digital campaign strategy. There’s also the additional challenge of capturing the attention of your supporters and your targets in such a fast-moving environment.

In this digital campaigning workshop you’ll explore through real life examples what makes a successful digital campaign strategy, including how to develop effective, impact-driven mobilisation tactics and actions and how to choose and prioritise your digital communication channels.

Three things you will do in this digital campaigning workshop:

  • Learn how to use a Theory of Change to analyse how digital activity can lead to impact
  • Develop an understanding of how to design mobilisation tactics that meet the needs of target and supporters
  • Consider how to choose the most effective digital communication channels for their campaign

Please note that this workshop has participatory elements. If you are unable to participate for any reason or in a specific manner (e.g. speaking, camera on, chat function, breakout rooms, etc.), please put that in the “Accessibility Requirements” section during checkout, and remind your facilitator at the beginning of the session.

If you would like to speak to someone further, please email megan.poyiadzis@smk.org.uk

This workshop is led by SMK Associate Charlotte Jones, a digital strategist, campaigner, trainer, and facilitator.

Charlotte is part of More Onion’s team of mobilisation experts, working with charities and non-profits to deliver high-impact campaigning and fundraising.

Jennifer Laws

Jennifer Frame

Volunteer campaigner, End Our Cladding Scandal

“I thought Jess was a brilliant facilitator of this session, she was engaging and encouraged participation and questions. Jess totally demystified digital campaigning by highlighting that it is not about shiny whizzy technical skills, it is all about the basics of campaign strategy and working out where digital tools can support your actions. Thank you!”

Participant, 2023

“I was beyond impressed with the way she ran the session. She stressed the importance of the overarching strategy/theory of change throughout the session, rather than highlighting isolated activities.”
