At SMK, we know from talking to campaigners across the charity sector that there is active demand for information and training in how to plan effective influencing activity towards a General Election.
We have therefore partnered with experienced lobbyists and SMK Associates Abdi Mohamed and Jo Gibbons to run an in-depth session for experienced campaigners. We hope this will appeal to people who have some background in campaigning who now want to build on their understanding of planning influencing activity towards a General Election.
The three-hour online session will give experienced campaigners a well-rounded understanding of how to prepare their strategy for influencing towards a General Election.
In this session participants will
- Learn more about the timeline and processes surrounding a General Election
- Understand how elections work, the development of manifestos and the role of political party conferences
- Dive deep into developing an influencing plan in the run up to a General Election, focussing on how to engage locally as well as nationally
