Celebrating the best campaigns and campaigners

For the 2021 National Campaigner Awards we have 10  categories, most with three nominees shortlisted. Some had four, (as it was just too hard to choose, which didn’t make it an easy job for our 2021 judges!).

Long-term Achievement Award

To recognise the work and contribution of an exceptional individual who has campaigned over a long period of time.

Campaign of the Year

This is a special recognition award for Campaign of the Year. It’s for a campaign that particularly excelled – not just because of what they won, but also how they won it.

Marcus Rashford & FareShare – movement to end child food poverty

There came a growing realisation that this was a bigger challenge than could be tackled by goodwill alone. Individual acts of support were building into a movement for change.


Best Consumer Campaign

To recognise campaigns that successfully challenge poor or unfair consumer practice, or which successfully promote or strengthen consumer rights and protection.

Joeli Brearley

Joeli Brearley started campaigning for the rights of working mums in 2015, after facing pregnancy discrimination from an employer, a children’s charity, who sacked Joeli the day after she announced she was expecting her first child.
