Taking your campaigning approach to a higher level

Recent work with Paralympics GB
ParalympicsGB seeks to inspire a better world for disabled people through sport.
SMK worked alongside the Community + Social Impact team to develop a four-month bespoke training package for a group of Athletes, to help them develop a range of campaigning and social change skills.
Nicci Bailey, Athlete Community & Social Impact Manager, ParalympicsGB said:
“SMK are a friendly team that provided a considerate programme adapted to our needs. The feedback from our Paralympians has been fantastic, with most requesting further training. This was our first step into the advocacy sector and SMK were great collaborators. We hope to work with them again and develop our relationship on our advocacy journey.”
We designed a two-stage programme to meet the needs of ParalympicsGB. Stage one focussed on building foundation knowledge and skills amongst Athletes. Stage two then centred on an Athlete-led approach, with opportunities for advanced level skills development.
Training formats included on-line and in-person events, one-to-one mentoring, micro skills development sessions and campaigning clinics. All sessions and content were designed in fully accessible formats following best practice guidelines.
