When SMK was created 18 years ago, to honour the life and work of legendary campaigner Sheila McKechnie, its founding ambition was to celebrate and support outstanding campaigners.

Today, we continue to celebrate and champion change-makers and campaigners, and seek to build a more confident and powerful civil society whose role in social change is recognised and valued.

The annual SMK National Campaigner Awards help us to do this work.
