Analysing the problem and planning for change

This three-part foundation workshop in campaign planning will help you to develop a robust and relevant approach to planning campaigns and social change activities that are impactful.

At the campaign planning workshop start, you’ll consider your vision for change. You will then learn how to use the Problem Tree planning tool as a logical route to identifying your core campaign problem clearly, the opportunity and route for change, and a proposed solution. You will learn to use a Power Map tool to identify key campaign targets and allies through analysing who holds power, where you might need to move allies to increase your influence and importantly what your group or organisation might be able to do that other groups cannot.

This campaign planning workshop compliments the Evaluating What Matters workshop well.

Find out more about the campaign planning workshop content below in this short video.

Four things you will do in this workshop:

  • Practice identifying the root causes of the problems we campaign on
  • Analyse ways of mapping targets and allies, and prioritising a path to change
  • Reflect on how to make our campaign plans practical and useable
  • Learn three key campaigning tools and approaches to use in your ongoing campaigning work
