Social Power Tools

Despite differences in funding, location and issues, we have found remarkable similarities in people’s experience of making change. The Social Power report includes insights and tools to help anyone working for transformative change.

The Social Change Grid

We created the Grid to help us to make sense of the many different routes to change that we encountered. It quickly became our most popular tool. Map your existing activity onto the Grid and spot quadrants where you are weaker. Use it as a learning exercise to map a successful campaign. Map a coalition’s spheres of influence and ask if you need to recruit members in other quadrants.

12 Habits of Successful Change-Makers

Regardless of scale or resources, we found that effective change-makers share common ways of behaving. Use these descriptions to challenge yourself, your colleagues, and your organisation. Which habits do you want to develop this year?

The Social Change Grid Template

Use this blank template to scribble ideas, map your work or capture a planning discussion.

THE SOCIAL POWER TOOLS: HOW ARE YOU USING THEM?

We’ve been keeping track of how campaigners and change-makers are using the findings of the Social Power report and the tools. We’d love to know if you’ve used any of the tools or findings in your own work. Please drop us a line.

SOCIAL POWER PODCAST

Our Social Power podcasts feature live recordings from our Change Network events. We bring people together to explore instances of change. How did it feel? What did it look like? What can we learn?

THE CHANGE NETWORK

Curious about change? The Change Network is a chance to explore change, expand your understanding, and connect with other change-makers. Meet people working on different issues, in different places, using different approaches.
