Roz Davies

Roz is an experienced social change leader and innovator with a focus on social justice and building a more fair and participatory society where people feel empowered to change their world. At SMK Foundation, Roz is responsible for growing capacity, impact and income. Previous roles include Director of Communities and Localities at New Economics Foundation, Director of Social Inclusion at Good Things Foundation and Managing Director of Mental Health Charity ‘Sheffield Flourish’.

Roz has won many awards for work and contribution to civic society including UK Digital Charity Leader, IPPR Rising Northern Star, Prime Minister’s Big Society Award, HSJ Patient Leader and John Rees Prize for Volunteering in Homelessness.

Her work in the past has included leading a programme which trained and supported 17,500 people to become community health champions, developing a digital wellbeing platform to enable people living with mental health conditions to share their stories of discovery, producing the principles of participation for NHSE national guidance and leading and securing funding for multiple social and digital inclusion programmes including in health, neighbourhood renewal, homelessness, social action, and democracy.

Roz is a regular on twitter and a blogger on subjects close to her heart – participatory democracy, green new deal and tech for good. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, Co-Founder of Three Questions (a participatory digital innovation experiment) and a passionate trainee gardener.
